Ron Spencer, our multi-talented and long time dear friend, mentor, and integral member of our Folk Family of Friends, passed away on Monday, June 9th. Ron (77) was surrounded by loving family members as he crossed over.
Ron was loved by all who knew him, and he was such a wonderful and giving person. Ron not only helped many of us start our music careers, but also accompanied literally hundreds of artists with his beautiful basses and other instruments at more gigs and music festivals than you could count.
It was not unusual to see him play at least 8-10 sets a day at Barberville and the Florida Folk Festival, then play all night at campfire song circles to the wee hours of the morning, then do it all over again. You literally needed roller skates to keep up with him!
Thank you to Gail Carson, another dear friend and former bandmate of Ron's, for her beautiful sentiments and photo collage of pictures she and others took of Ron over the years.

Here is the linformation for Visitiation and Graveside Service.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in honor of Ron Spencer to either the North Florida Folk Network, or Jax Tuba Xmas.
Play one for us at that great Heavenly jam circle Ron, and we'll play some for you too. Ron's passing leaves a huge hole in our hearts, and he will be forever loved and missed. Rest in power and music dear Ron.
Thank you on behalf of our NFFN Board of Directors,
Cindy, Franc, Stephany, Scott, Frank, Laura, and Keith
